Sometimes in life, we get completely distracted. Our thoughts, emotions, and even what we do, to begin with, are all over the place without rhyme or reason. Sometimes this creates inner restlessness and an inability to focus on doing the things we set out to do. It's times like these that we need to get back into neutral and focus.
Centering is nothing more than bringing all your energies back to yourself within your whole being and reconnecting to your energy. Think about the first thing a person might do before a big presentation or interview. Taking a deep breath is sometimes what we do to prepare ourselves for something big to happen. This is a person's innate ability to know exactly what they need to bring balance and center within themselves. The breath is what helps bring all your energy back in so you can be balanced within and focus on whatever needs your attention at that moment.
Deep breathing is one way to bring yourself back to the center. Our breath is our life force. Breathing is what keeps us alive and most of the time it's not even a thought, but conscious breathing helps us center ourselves. Another way to center yourself is to meditate with your breath for as little as three minutes if you're short on time. Notice how the breath enters your body. Then notice it leaving your body. Once you get used to it, you will find yourself in perfect balance. You will also find that the rest of your day flows with purpose and ease.
