A new Johns Hopkins study estimates that more than 250,000 Americans die each year due to medical errors. This includes deaths caused by surgical errors, incorrect medication, and treating the wrong patient, and medical errors rank second only to heart disease and cancer as our biggest killers.
But, the exact number of these types of deaths is likely much higher, as this estimate does not include things like errors in diagnosis and breakdowns in communication. Above all, it does not include the countless times an egotistical doctor fails to admit when he is wrong. The true number of deaths from medical errors is 500,000. How can that be?
Doctors come out of medical school with an unauthorized chip on their shoulders. They realize that they have spent more time and money on their education than most people, and somehow they think they can do no wrong. Then when the inevitable mistake happens, they can't admit it. They use their training to their advantage by manipulating records to make them look better. Everyone must know that doctors make mistakes.
Why is it not hard for me to believe that doctors would resort to immoral and illegal tactics to save their reputations? Well, it's because I've been to the doctor a few times. I can see and feel their huge egos and feelings of superiority. I also know that they are making tons of money, and unlike the previous days, that seems to be driving their careers. Over the past two years, two of my regular doctors have retired to their tropical islands in their mid-50s. Their excuse: Obamacare paperwork - while trying to help injured people, it didn't seem to go into their retirement plans. What happened to the day when doctors felt they should work into their seventies or eighties to help justify the high cost of their education and help people while they can?
Besides, doctors cause the death of 100,000 HEALTHY babies in the womb every year by performing abortions. Consider the truth about the leading causes of death in the United States each year:
Abortion: 1,000,000
Medical errors: 500,000
Heart disease: 500,000
Cancer: 500,000
Healthcare: 1,500,000 (1,000,000 intentional and 500,000 medical errors)
Cannot be prevented: 1,000,000
Why did we modernize the Hippocratic Oath and remove the "first no harm" goal? They should also be honest.
