Some Thoughts on the Coronavirus Covid-19

It does no good to be paralyzed by fear and anxiety over this matter. These things come like a hurricane or a forest fire and kill people, but they pass. And this too must pass. We have to be careful, super-hygienic, and sensible, stay calm, and drink lots of tea to feel better!

Many people panic, as shown by the compulsive buying of toilet paper and other goods.  But, the best they can do is to cut physical interaction with other people and stay in their homes or accommodation as much as possible.

Stay no closer than 2 meters to other people. (One meter is suggested, but that's a bit optimistic, and I'd be happier with 3 meters or more - you can still have a conversation 3 meters away.) Don't gather in crowds. If you cannot wash your hands, use hand sanitizer and then wash them with soap and water as soon as possible. Don't shake hands with anyone and of course, don't kiss anyone outside your family or house. Cut physical contact with anyone outside of your house until this is over.

Some people say that it is a punishment from God for the sins of the leaders of the nations, which could well be true. Others say the Chinese started the virus on purpose to drive down overseas stocks so they could buy Western companies at a fraction of their price. That is also a possibility. I am still gathering all the information and sifting through the fake news to try and make sense of the epidemic. What is certain is that it was caused by a combination of greed and poverty.

What we need to do is support those who have tested positive, and send them messages of encouragement and hope. Also, be super supportive of the nursing staff and doctors, and all the people who have to keep working so you have food and supplies. Be kind to everyone now and put aside petty irritations.

Smart Disc Problems

Problems with the vertebral disc are very painful. They haunt you with excruciating and shooting pain. A vertebral is a plate or disk of cartilage and fiber that contains the nucleus pulpous, a mass of white elastic fiber at its center located between the vertebrae or bones of the spine. Disc problems tend to get worse with age. Aggravation or any injury or any stress can cause a painful disorder known as a slipped disc, herniated disc, pinched nerve, or ruptured disc. In a herniated disc, when the disc ruptures or slips, the white elastic fibers protrude through the cartilage and put pressure on the adjacent nerve root, generating excruciating pain in the affected area. A herniated disc can sometimes be completely painless, but a degenerative disc can cause intense pain. Degenerative means that the condition is likely to get worse over time. Most patients with a degenerative disc will periodically experience continuous tolerable pain followed by increasing intensity of pain that will ...
