I have to share my recent pain experience - because it was SO DIFFERENT than what I've experienced in the past.
A few days ago, while I was bending over the housework, I felt a pinch in my lower back. It felt like something was caught and stuck and I wasn't quite sure I could get up. I felt a little fear rise in my chest because this particular enhancement had never happened before. I took a few deep breaths and managed to stand up, but my back was still tight, twisted, and "off". I rated the pain a 7 out of 10.
In the past, I would have been afraid. Oh my god! Something is WRONG!! How long will it take? How long will I be out of my activities? Am I going to get BLOCKED FOREVER like this?!! And on and on... In the past, adjustments like this would get worse, the pain would spread throughout my body and I could be miserable and in pain for months.
Even though it was a little shocking and scary and it doesn't feel good, I know it's going to be okay.
My fear was immediately reduced and my pain level dropped a notch or two as well. I have a great chiropractor that I trust and was able to get an appointment three days later. The last three days would have felt like an eternity, but this time I thought it was my chance to experience the tapping of pain.
Although I suffered from chronic pain for several years, I have had no real pain since I became an EFT practitioner. My trusted chiropractor got me out of pain, but I went to see him often - weekly at first, then every few weeks. But, once I started tapping, my edits lasted longer and longer, and now I only see him a few times a year for a "tune-up".
That evening my pain was still a 5 so I gave myself a full tap. It didn't take long for me to associate this pain with my worries about finances. I worked with it until I felt much better and when I checked back in it was about 2! I still felt the misalignment, but my pain experience was completely different. It was an annoying "off" feeling, but something I could live with for the next few days. This happens to my clients all the time, but I have to admit I was still a bit amazed to experience such a dramatic difference in myself.
When I saw my chiropractor he said there was a rotation in my L-4 that would cause the pain I described. He snapped everything back into place, along with some adjustments to my neck, hips, and feet until I was flush again.
Although pain is never fun, this was the best pain experience ever! I am still in awe of the power of the human mind to increase or decrease our experience of pain and EFT to communicate with the part of the mind that controls that experience. While I had a physical deviation that required attention, my thoughts, emotions, and energy flow turned out to be a larger component of my pain experience.
